A beautiful name! I wish it weren't so rare; the brand names only make me think of a sweet and fresh personality. The perfect name for a character in my book.
Dove is the nickname of one of the main characters in the Disney+ Willow series, played by Ellie Bamber.
I love this for a middle name, very serene and gentle sounding with a beautiful strength as well.
Between the associations with the soap, the chocolate, and the bird itself, this strikes me as a very... calm name, if you will. I would think that someone named Dove is a good listener and makes those around her feel better just by being around.
One of the few pretty "unique" names.
This was the name for a MASCULINE character (no idea why) in Esther Forbes novel, Johnny Tremain.
Reminds me of Dove soap.
Great name! Peaceful, sweet, beautiful Dove! I like it a lot! Sweet Dove, beautiful!
I like it a lot but I honestly think it’s best as a middle name. However it does remind me of Dove Cameron.
Under arm deodorant girl.
Cute, but can’t imagine it on an elderly person.
The minute I heard this name I thought it was sooo cute for a baby girl. I’m not joking.
It sounds a little odd on an adult or the elderly.
Love Dovey for a girl or boy.
My grandmother was named Dovery. I haven't been able to find any information on the name.
For a masculine equivalent, maybe Dov? Even though it means bear...
Looks like it was on the low end of US charts in the late 1800s. I can see it being semi-popular again. It’s less ridiculous than a lot of the kreigh8tyv names used now.
A spiritual name that symbolizes the Holy Spirit, the symbol which Jesus saw when he got baptized,
It's a very delicate and meek sounding name, and it is a symbol of peace. The brand association is a weak excuse to not use this wonderful name. 5 stars from me!
Dove is a lovely girl's name.
I haven’t met anyone with the name Dove and I can’t think of someone called Dove until I meet one, Dove is a bit of a quirky name but it’s cute at the same time so if I have a daughter I would need to discuss the name with my husband, I think it would make a good middle name as a first name, I just wish it was a nickname for something.

Dove is a very feminine and pretty name.
This is my sister's name and no, she's not a bird, soap, or chocolate. And she definitely didn't "Dove" into a pool. She's beautiful and so is her name. :)
Very pretty girls' name and I love doves! I don't know if I'd ever actually use it for anything more than a nickname or middle name though...
Cool name! I think it would suit even better for a middle name!
Sounds pretty, though the brand associations kinda ruins it. (-̩̩-̩̩͡_-̩̩-̩̩͡)
I honestly think this would be a great name for a boy. It's unique, soft, and meaningful, without sounding overly feminine.
Dove Cameron is the name of a teen Disney Channel actress, the star of the new show "Liv and Maddie," where she plays a set of twins, and the movie "Cloud 9." I think the name suits her well.
Lovey Dovey.
I'd like it if it wasn't a brand name.
While doves are very cute, I still wouldn't use this. It makes me think of the soap brand. Dove as a name would make me laugh if I heard it in real life.
I think this would be kind of odd as a first name--however, Dove makes a great "alternative" middle name.
Doves are pretty, and the name sounds lovely, but it reminds me of the soap brand.
