Comments for ÉMERIC:
I knew someone who pronounced it AM-er-ique. I think that it was the same name, but I'm not 100% sure.-- indigopearl 8/1/2006
This name is related to Amerigo - the name of Amerigo Vespucci after whom the continent of America is named. Emeric could be a very patriotic name for an inhabitant of the continent to give their son.
Vespucci was named in honour of Saint Emmerich of Hungary.-- SandSea 3/23/2010
Emeric Pressburger was one of The Archers (the other being Michael Powell), a famous pair of filmmakers from Britain. They made several influential films during the 40s and 50s.-- Anonymous User 4/3/2011
