I know a little girl named Eliana. When I first heard the name, I thought it sounded trashy, but this little girl has dirty-blonde, curly hair, and a sweet face and nature. It then started to grow on me. Then, when I looked it up on this site, I liked that it was Hebrew and the meaning was nice. I would definitely name a little girl this, now that I know more about it.
I was looking for a unique and meaningful name for my daughter that would connect her to God in some way with Hebrew origins. I am christian and when I read what Eliana meant, My God answers me, I said this is it. I love how it is spelled and sounds. It is truly a beautiful name.
My middle name is Eliana and I think it's lovely. One of my favourites.

As many people have said, Eliana means "my god answered" in Hebrew. For my mom, it couldn't have been more true, and thus my name is Elianna.
I love my name! Though I often need to spell it out for people when they write it, I've only ever gotten compliments on my name. Most people I know prefer it with only one "n" like it is on this site, but I think that it looks better on paper with two of them.
Wow-"My god has answered" That is just overly beautiful. I love this name, even if my mother doesn't like it (obviously she has no taste in names) I would use this name for a daughter. I also like Liana, Nana, Eli--- etc for nicknames.
I love this name. It's unusual and fits in with modern trends, but at the same time it's beautiful, flowing and ultra-feminine. I consider myself agnostic, but I still love many names with religious meanings. Eliana is also a great and more meaningful alternative to the currently popular Ella.
I didn't like it at first, but now it's the name of my beautiful baby sister, born on Thanksgiving Day a year ago, and it fits very nicely. It has almost an elvish feel to it.
