Folke Bernadotte - Swedish diplomat in the 1940s, who negotiated the release of 27,000 people (most in groups wanted by the Nazis, like Jews and Gypsies) to hospitals in Sweden.

Ever since reading about a very sexist Finnish celebrity of some kind with this name, I've associated this name with scum. And well, it is old-fashioned and sounds too much like 'folk'.

This name is regarded as Frisian in The Netherlands, where it is used among both the Frisians and the Dutch.
