Francisco Pizarro was a Spanish conquistador who helped conquer the Incan Empire, but for some reason I kept mixing his name with Vasco de Gama's and got Francisco de Gama. (Which sounds pretty cool, if you ask me. Any de Gamas out there need a baby name?)

Francisco Javier "Patxi" López Álvarez is a Spanish socialist politician who was President of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country from 2009 to 2012 and President of the Congress of Deputies, the lower house of the Spanish Cortes Generales, in the short lived eleventh legislature from January 2016 to July 2016. He was also Secretary-General of the Socialist Party of Euskadi - Euskadiko Ezkerra, the Basque affiliate of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party, from 2002 to 2014.

Francisco Núñez Olivera (born 13 December 1904), age 112 years, 139 days, is currently the oldest man in Europe and the world's second oldest man behind Yisrael Kristal. He was born at Extremadura, and joined the army at 19 to fight in the Rif War. He had his kidney removed when he was 90 and a cataract operation aged 98, and is one of the only surviving veterans of the Spanish Civil War. He was nicknamed "Marchena" after Pepe Marchena, due to his resemblance to the singer.
