Since I was born in Russia and I speak it fluently, in translation into it's origin language this name means the past tense of a boy talking.

That's not true, Gavril is just the Russian form of Gabriel, Gah vah reel is the way the past tense form of talking would sound like. What kind of native Russian are you!

I love this name. My 5 year old brother has this name. I think it's a very good alternative for Gabriel.

Greek feminine form of Gavriil is Gavriela (Γαβριέλα) or Gavriella (Γαβριέλλα).
