The Italian form of Jesus is Gesù. Giosuè is the Italian form of Joshua. All of them are in fact variations of the same name like Jacob and James which are cognates of the biblical name Yaacov, used for the patriarch in Genesis but also for the two apostles in the New Testament. Considering all of them separate names is a common mistake, especially in the English speaking countries.
