Also a Dutch name, pronounced KHI-tah, often short for Birgitta or Brigitta.

The pronunciation of "G" in Gitta is very soft as in "goal" and "i" sounds as in "me".
That way it sounds softer and more feminine I think.
To me it is a lovely name but maybe it is because I know a very lovely person with this name!
