Meaning & History

Means "oryx horn", ultimately derived from Jul'hoan gǃòʼé meaning "oryx" and ǃhú meaning "horn". It is named after Gǃkúnǁʼhòmdímà's horn. Following the mythology, the satellite of the minor planet (229762) Gǃkúnǁʼhòmdímà is named after it too.

Note: The "ǃ" sign reflects Latin retroflex click, instead of an exclamation mark (compare Nǃxau).
