I love the name Hugo! It’s so sophisticated and vintage. It’s timeless and would suit any age from a baby to an old man. Huggy would be a cute nickname for when he is little.
I love Hugo so much! So dapper and handsome, cute on a boy and distinguished on a man. It also happens to be the name of my favourite character from my favourite show (Hugo from Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, you should totally watch it). Hughie could make a cute nickname for a kid, but it doesn’t need a nickname. It’s quite popular, but that wouldn’t stop me from using it. The meaning “mind, heart, spirit” is so lovely and wholesome.
I had it narrowed down to Arlo, Ezra, and Hugo. I now have a two-year-old named Hugo Theodore.
Hmm sounds like a name that would fit a giant...
I used to like it very much, it's not just simple, but maybe it is because it's an old man's name, but it has something pretty about it anyways.
I like it as much as Hugh. Simple to pronounce.
This name sounds so sophisticated yet friendly to me. I have always thought it ages well. It sounds like a vintage name and I think it fits in with the name trends of today without being too popular.
I like this name for a pit bull.
I like this name, but I also think it sounds a little bit childish. Grandpa Hugo?
One of the many names that sounds bad in English, but much cooler in French. (Another one is Gilbert.)
This is one of my favorite boys' names ever. I used to think it was ugly, but I definitely adore it now.
This name has a certain vitality that I appreciate by the way it is spelled and sounds. I also think it is a decent
choice of a name for a family who might have relations that are from, let’s say a more continental extraction in Western Europe. Making it easier to pronounce and spell for such relatives would be a significant bonus in my humble opinion. Thus making Hugo a charming and multi cultural forename that might be right for the family that selects this name for a child of theirs.
I personally like this name very much. It sounds quite sexy, and the way it rolls from the tongue and sounds is amazing... I'll definitely name my son 'Hugo'.
My name is Hugo, I think it is an awesome name.
I love this name, however I don't think it ages well at all.
Nice name. I knew a little boy named Hugo and he pronounced it HUGH-go, which is the usual pronunciation in the US. It's never been very popular here and it's nice that way, because then the people named Hugo are unique :) I highly recommend using it, it's very cute and quirky but will suit all ages.
If you say it quickly, it sounds like you're saying 'You go'. Try it.
Hugo has one thousand times the bite of dull Hugh.
It sounds squishy and huggable. I wish it was my name.
I like this name, but I associate it with Hugo Chavez, the dictator of Venezuela.
Sounds like somebody having an athsma attack.
I actually HATE this ugly name. :)
I think this is an awesome and sophisticated boy's name. I used to know a guy with this name who was very hansome yet very melancholy and mysterious. That's the only thing that would put me off calling a male child Hugo.
