In Greenlandic, Isi means "eye".
Many words from cultures that did not use Latin letters (such as Native American and Chinese) are pronounced phonetically, as this was how they were written by colonisers (explorers, whatever). Ergo I would assume that this name is pronounced similarly to Izzy, although the 's' rather than a 'z' would indicate a softer sound.
I say it ISS (Like it's without the 'T') ee. But that's just me, I'm not native American.
How is it pronounced? Like "EYE-see" or "EE-see"?
Short an' sweet.
Isi was the main character's "other" name in "The Goose Girl" by Shannon Hale.
Short but elegant.
