A famous bearer of thi name is Jemaine Clement, guitarist and vocalist for "band" Flight of the Conchords. He stars in HBO series "Flight of the Conchords."
He spells his name "Jemaine," although from what I can tell, it's pronounced the same.

This name seems as dated as the Jackson 5 to me. Jermaine Jackson infamously named his own child "Jermajesty."

I like the sound of the name Jermaine. :) Of course, I think of Jermaine Jackson. I wouldn't personally use this name though.

I like and admire this name well enough but I just HATE that it's associated as a "black" name far too often. Like, you can't name a child or a character this without people assuming he's of African descent. And it does not help at all that any famous Jermaines are almost always black- if not every time.
