Using Kanji "香", so it means fragrant. My father was a garden lover, so he chose this name for his first child, me.

Kinda old-school female name in Japan, good to know babies in the U.S. are having the same name. (are they Japanese-American or not?)

Kaori Icho is a Japanese freestyle wrestler. She is a ten-time World Champion and four-time Olympic Champion, winning gold in 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016. Icho was undefeated between 2003 and 2016. Chiharu Icho is Kaori's elder sister. On 29 January 2016 at the Golden Grand Prix Ivan Yarygin 2016 she lost to Orkhon Purevdorzh of Mongolia. This was her first loss after a long domination.

She is the first female in any sport to win individual-event gold at four consecutive Olympics. On October 20th, 2016, she was awarded the People's Honour Award by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for her achievements, the second wrestler to receive the highest award, after Saori Yoshida in 2012.

Kaori Chiba is a female field hockey player from Japan. She twice represented her native country at the Summer Olympics (2004 and 2008).

Chiba became top scorer at the 2006 Women's Hockey World Cup Qualifier in Rome, Italy, alongside Tomomi Komori (Japan), Rhona Simpson (Scotland) and Maryna Vynohradova (Ukraine), scoring six goals.
