How is this a variant of Kaylyn?Wouldn't Kaylynn be the original? Or Cailin as in the Irish word, only pronounced in English?The original spellings of the names are Kay and Lynn so if you were to combine them then Kaylynn would be the original and Kaylyn the variant.Or you could use the English pronunciation of the Irish word Cailin.Just like Caitlin is the original (from the Irish name, English pronunciation) and another original could be Katelynn because it is simply Kate plus Lynn in their original spellings.So you would have two different etymologies for the names.I just don't really see how Kaylyn would be the original as it is listed here.
