In my catechism classes I was taught that Kenny is the Irish form of the name Canice. St Canice was a Christian missionary from Rome who travelled around Ireland and Scotland and is believed to have founded the cathedral at Kilkenny.
This can also be a nickname for Mackenzie. Female and male.

My son is named Kenneth and he has always been called Kenny. I don't know where the information comes from on the meaning of Kenny and dying. The only meaning I have ever heard or seen is "handsome".
Kenny McCormick is one of the main characters in the "South Park" series. He wears an orange parka with a hood that covers his whole face (except his eyes) and muffles his voice as to be unintelligible; for the first five years or so of the series, Kenny would be killed in a most horrifying way in each episode, leading his friends, Stan and Kyle, to shout (respectively), "Oh my god, they killed Kenny!", "You bastards!"
