This always makes me think of the "Dragonlance Chronicles" character, Kitiara, who was often refered to as Kit. Kitiara Uth Matar was interesting character, but she was the character you loved to hate because of her betrayal to her friends.
Kit is a nickname for Kathrine or Christopher. It was also popular in the late 1800's and again in the 1940's as a name in it's own right. (The popularity of western themed radio and television programs led to this) My son's name is Kit. A few people dislike it but mostly I get wonderful feedback. It is an old fashioned yet oft unused name. Too me, it evokes a feeling of youth and adventure.
Christopher "Kit" Stixby is the main character in the Kit Stixby series, and Kit Kittredge, the main character in the Kit Kittredge American Girl books, based on the life of the doll produced by that company.
