Forget Kathy or Kate. Kit is my favorite nickname for Katherine! Oddly I like it for a boy too. I once knew an adorable male Kit.

This always makes me think of the "Dragonlance Chronicles" character, Kitiara, who was often refered to as Kit. Kitiara Uth Matar was interesting character, but she was the character you loved to hate because of her betrayal to her friends.

My name is Kit! Actually, it's short for Katrina. But I think it's an awesome name and I would never change it. I like it for a guy, too.

Kit is a word used to describe baby beavers. I love beavers, so I wouldn't recommend this as a legal name. It's more of a nickname.

Kit is a nickname for Kathrine or Christopher. It was also popular in the late 1800's and again in the 1940's as a name in it's own right. (The popularity of western themed radio and television programs led to this)
My son's name is Kit. A few people dislike it but mostly I get wonderful feedback. It is an old fashioned yet oft unused name. Too me, it evokes a feeling of youth and adventure.
