I love this name! It's very feminine, (doesn't strike me as a masculine name.) My impression: it's very lady-like, pretty, fairy-like, elegant and not so overly used.
My cousin is named Annalace, as in Queen Anne's Lace. I think it's an interesting alternative if you like this name because of the "lace" bit.

I think this is a cute name. On the one hand it does sound soft and frilly and maybe too childish for an adult, but then the fact that it is an old surname gives it more strength.

Lacey is a cute soft name. I think of a sweet girl when I think of that name. Maybe because it's my sister's name. I love that name. It fits her very well.
Hmm. Although it's true it's sweet and cute I just think it sounds prissy. It's probably because I knew a girl in my dance class named Lacey who was prissy and rude, so don't take offense. Besides that, I also can't imagine a strong, bold woman being named Lacey. It might be good for a fairy or in a story, though.
To me, this name sounds strictly feminine, and I'd find it amusing if a guy was named Lacey. The name is admittedly very cute, but I have my doubts about how well it would suit a grown-up. It's not the most infantile name out there, but it is a bit cutesy and girly.
Lacey is too prissy to be taken seriously as a name. To me, it is the name you give a child when you aren't creative enough to think of anything better. It is an adjective for overdone clothing, not a name.

I really like this name. I think it sounds pretty & elegant. I certainly think a female would grow into the name & it would therefore suit an adult. If my next child is a girl this name is a strong contender.
I would find it very odd to meet a male person named Lacey. Lacey clothing, Lacey Washington, Lacey as a girl's name. It's amazing how it seems the lest bit masculine.
Despite the fact that it sounds maybe a bit too girly, unless the girl named Lacey is always in pink, I really like this name. I like most -cey names: Tracey, Stacey, and Darcey, the sound is just very soft and feminine. Lacey is best with a longer, slightly "harder" sounding names, they balance out the airy sound. But this is a difficult name to choose a middle name for, because if the name is too short, it sounds like Lacey is an adjective describing the name for example lacy Gabrielle or lacy Jennifer.
This was a name I liked when I was a lot younger, but now I just think it sounds kind of fluffy and insubstantial. There's also the unfortunate association with murder victim Laci Peterson.
It's also derived from the Greek name Gelasia: Meaning "prone to laughter."

My name is Lacey and I always liked my name while I was growing up. Now that I'm an adult, I still like it. I don't feel that my name is prissy but that could be because I'm not prissy. I like the fact that it means "cheerful" because I'm a very happy person and I love to laugh and joke around with my friends.

Meh... not good not bad. Sounds cute, but I wouldn't want to name my kid after frilly embroidery.
Why does it say this name can be used for either gender? For a girl, it's a beautiful, elegant name. For a boy, it's awful - like naming a girl Jonathon or some other masculine name. This is one of my favourite names, and I plan on using it for a character in a story. The only drawback is that people might mispronounce it "lazy" or something similar.
