When my cousin Leonor was born in 1996 her name was delightfully unusual and rarely used outside of old noble families - but nowadays it seems every other Portuguese baby girl is named Leonor (or Maria / Beatriz / InĂªs). This popularity has ruined this name a bit for me (even though it sounds beautiful and is strong and full of good associations).
