Lorena Kloosterboer is a Dutch-Argentine artist who paints using trompe-l'œil and photorealistic styles, often creating the illusion of three-dimensional objects on a two-dimensional surface. She is best known for her hyperrealist still life paintings of idiosyncratic compositions made of glass and porcelain pieces. Her paintings have been exhibited and awarded in several countries worldwide. As a sculptor Kloosterboer has created a number of bronze pieces which are displayed in public in the city of Wassenaar. Also, the artist has published several books on painting techniques.

Her play, Angélique, the story of executed slave Marie-Joseph Angelique, was the winner of the 1995 duMaurier National Playwriting Competition in Canada. Her writing explores the nature of being black and mixed race and belonging in Canada. In 2000, she produced her play Je me souviens, a monologue about her experiences growing up in Montreal, at the Firehall Arts Centre in Vancouver, BC. The play was published by Talonbooks in 2001.

In the book, 'Gone With The Wind', Scarlett's daughter with Frank Kennedy was named Ella Lorena.

Lorena is a beautiful name in my opinion but the only famous bearer I can think of is Lorena Bobbitt.
