I thought that I'd made up this name. Until I did research on it and found it on this website. Lol. I am expecting twins in May and I am naming the girl, if I have one, Mannix. I think it will be cute and very different.

It can also be derived from the Irish island Mann.

The Isle of Man is not Irish although it is located in the Irish Sea. Things/people from that island are called Manx. Seems unlikely that it has the connection stated to the name Mannix.
