I'm glad you mentioned Micaela is the Spanish form of Michelle and Michaela. Micaela and Miguela are the Spanish forms of Miguel, which is the equivalent of Mitchell/Michael.

When we immigrated to Canada in 1987, no one had my name or had heard of it. Because no one could pronounce it properly, I went by Mickey for many years. Only after high school did I go back to being called Micaela, pronounced Mikayla.
