Meaning & History

This name combines 睦 (boku, moku, mutsu.bu, mutsu.mu) meaning "friendly, harmonious, intimate", 夢 (bou, mu, kura.i, yume, yume.miru) meaning "dream, illusiom, vision" or 陸 (riku, roku, oka, mu) meaning "land, six" with 月 (gatsu, getsu, tsuki) meaning "month, moon."
It can also be used as 睦希, 睦生 or 睦紀 with 希 (ki, ke, mare) meaning "beg, few, hope, phenomenal, pray, rare, request", 生 (shou, sei, i.kiru, u.mu, ki) meaning "birth, genuine, life" and 紀 (ki) meaning "account, chronicle, history, narrative."

Mutsuki (睦月) is also the traditional Japanese name for January with some sources pointing out the meaning as "month of affection."
