"Naima" is a jazz tune written by legendary saxophonist John Coltrane in 1960. Juanita Naima Grubb, called Naima, was the birth name of Coltrane's first wife. They were married for eight years before they divorced.

I find this name very pretty! Would personally pronounce it Nah-ee-mah.

Its meaning of consolation / comfort is common in some form across Aramaic, Hebrew, and Arabic.

It is quite possible that the original form of the male name Barnabas was in fact Bar-Na'ama or "Son of Comfort" in Aramaic.
