I have fallen in love with this name! Very pretty, uncommon & exotic! I can picture this on a child and a grown woman. Nikolina strikes me as name where the bearer of it is unbelievably beautiful. This is definitely my favourite form of all the Nic/Nik names. Nika would be such a cute nickname also.
This name is Macedonian in origin. It derives from the Ancient Macedonian name Berenice which meant "bringing victory". This name, like Berenice and Veronica, features an element derived from the name of Nike, the goddess of victory. The name Nikolina is used mainly in Macedonia.
I'm not sure what to think of this name, it's unusual.
Also the form used in Slovenia. Nika as a full name far outpaces it, however.
