Noelle

My middle name is Noelle because I was due during the holidays. I waited until the middle of January to make my arrival. I love my middle name and the First Noel.

I was born on Christmas Day and I wish my parents had named me this!

Noelle is somewhat common as a middle name for girls. Or really, more familiar. Not as common as Marie, Rose, or Grace for girls.

This is cute, it would work good for a December baby. I’m having a hard time thinking of middle names I like for it, so maybe it would work better as a middle name like Eva Noelle.

I love the name Noelle! As a Christian and Catholic, I love the religious and Christmassy association, although at the same time that's what probably would stop me personally from using this name for my potential baby because it immediately makes my brain go with "The First Noel". Still, I love this name, and if you are bothered by that Christmassy association or feel like it could only be used for girls born around Christmas, or just the opposite, it would make a gorgeous middle name. I also love Noella and Noelia. Noelia is the only one I can see working in my country, and it would be such a gorgeous, fresh alternative to the sickeningly popular - even though not ugly - and etymologically distantly related Natalia. I also love Noel for a boy, but Noel for a girl, whether with the accent on the E or not, looks much less elegant to me. I can't say I dislike it but this is definitely my least favourite spelling of the name. I do somewhat like it because of the Noel Streatfeild connection and I love that children's author.

This is the name of my sister, and no, she was not born around Christmas. In fact, she was born in early Fall. Anyway, I find this name beautiful, and I love its meaning as well. It’s very uncommon and very pretty. My sister doesn’t mind when people sing the first Noel to her. She embraces it in fact. :)

My sister's name is Noelle and I think it's a really pretty and cool name, but for some reason, she gets called Nicole all the time! People that have known her for years call her Nicole (mostly her friend's parents and our neighbors), even though the names aren't similar at all besides the N! It doesn't make the name worse or anything, it's just a funny thing that happens to her and apparently other people named Noelle!

To all the people who are saying you don't like it because it's too religious, it's not even spelled the same. I mean come on, you don't have to like the name but for real, just say that because it's barely even religious.

This name is alright. It has a sort of ring to it. However, this name now reminds me of the character from Deltarune, and I don't like her. As a result, this name now bums me out.

Pretty and elegant.

We named our female bunny Noël because it’s so pretty. For a while we had it as Noelle but in the end liked the look of the original better. We also have a male bunny named Summer, so now we have summer and Christmas.

A cute name for a girl that was born on christmas.

It's pretty, but it seems like the type of name highly religious parents might use for their daughter, which is a turn-off to me. Other than this, it seems like a lovely name to give one's daughter if she was born on or around Christmas, even if that idea is a little tacky, ha ha.

I much prefer Noël for girls. The purpose of the umlaut/accent mark is to separate it into two syllables (so that it isn't the masculine "knoll"), so adding the extra letters looks pointless to me.

I hate that it means christmas but I just can't help but love it. I've loved it ever since I heard that teenage dirtbag song. I may have to use it if I have a daughter.

I named my youngest daughter Noelle. She was born in August. I think it is a very pretty name. I am a big fan of Sidney Sheldon (R.I.P.) and one of the characters in his book "The Other Side of Midnight" is named "Noelle".

My name is Noelle. I was born 9 nine days before Christmas. I was sick when I was born and I didn't get out until Christmas day. That was when my mom decided to name me Noelle. I personally hate the name. All my friends, teachers, etc. think it's so pretty and love the name they go around singing that first Noelle song to me. And when this one boy found out that in French it means Santa Claus he came over to me and sat on my lap telling me he wanted a pony for Christmas. I hate my name. It is so annoying.

My middle name, used to hate it, now I love it and it's not pronounced Noel, it's Noelle as in NO-L even though it has 2 Ls. You know what I mean? Or is it the Americans that say Noel to Noelle?

I LOVE this name! I really want to use it if I have a daughter (although it depends on what my future married name is!) I think the spelling differentiates it from the Christmas meaning - you don't immediately think of "Joyeux Noel" when you first see it, and I love that.

This is my middle name, my birthday is on January 1st but I was due on December 24th and my mum had set that name from that day she was told. I don't like it, I try to hide it from everyone. My husband and my son (he's only 4!) keep calling me Noella to annoy me and it works.

This is my middle name (although I spell it Noel). Instead of being embarrassed by the Christmas song, I revelled in the association; I went around telling everyone I was the 'first Noel'.

I would blush in church as Christmas when the familiar Christmas carol was sung, and everyone would turn around and smile at me. As I got into high school, I realized my name was unique, and I've LOVED it since then! Everyone is constantly telling me how beautiful my name is, and I couldn't be more flattered. I love that very few people share my name, and this feeling has inspired me to give my children unique names as well!
