I think Octavius sounds like a strong, brave name as it is ancient Roman. It would have suited a Roman soldier.

Gaius Octavius was the name of the Roman emperor Caesar Augustus.

The eight son of the British King George III was (appropriately) named Prince Octavius. He was born in 1779 and died at the age of four.

Octavius is a good, solid, strong, masculine name. I love its Ancient Roman roots. :)
