Ondina Tayar (1912 – 2004) was a Maltese writer and pharmacist. As a student at the University of Malta in the early 1930s, she became both one of the first female university graduates in the country and one of the first Maltese women authors. She also worked to develop a written form of the Maltese language during the Language Question controversy.
Apparently also occasionally used in Slovene: https://sl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ondina
Yuck...
Sounds a bit odd.
Ondina was a character in the Australian Netflix series Mako Mermaids portrayed by Aussie actress Isabel Durant.
Ondina has been rarely used for newborns recently. In 2017 less than five babies were called Ondina.
Also Italian form of Undine. [noted -ed]
