My friend's name is Orna, but the "O" has an accent over it, so it is spelled Ôrna. I tell her that it's ironic that she's Irish, and her name means "small, pale, green one." (which pretty much describes a leprechaun)

I think this name is so wonderful. I can see a cute little girl, an independent teenager, and an elegant woman with this name. It's a name you can grow up with, very nice.

You'd have to be a real poet at heart to appreciate this name, as "little pale green one" conjures images in my mind of seasick children on the Liverpool to Dublin ferry!
