I kinda like this name. Sounds a lot like Alexander. I would name two twin boys Alexander and Philander and call them Alex and Phil.:)

What an ugly name. It sounds quite pretentious, if it didn't immediately bring to mind the word.

A pleasant enough sounding name except that there is no escaping the inevitable association that will be made to the word, "philanderer" -- not a very nice epitaph! If you like the -ander element, consider Lysander instead.
