Simple but regal.
I love Priya! It's my name and I feel it's wonderful... but not as wonderful as you!
Is a great cat name in my opinion. It works on people too. Pronounced pre uh.
This name is pretty!
I am an Indonesian boy named Priya. I used to hate this name when I was a kid because I was always called "Wanita" (woman) by my friends and families since "Pria" means man in Indonesian. Every time I introduced myself as "... my name is Priya", and everyone's comment will be like " obviously you're Priya" or "Your sister must be named, 'Wanita', eh..." it's so annoying, like can anyone not comment about how weird my name is?But as I grew up, I began to appreciate my name. I think why everyone comments about my name is because of the uniqueness it has. The name means man but the irony is, the name Priya is a feminine Indian name that means the precious or the beloved. My full name is I Made Priya Hutama, I Made is the indicator that I was a second child, and my given name, Priya Hutama, means 'the main man' to my mother, 'precious and prioritized' is the literal meaning.
I also find out that some males use feminine names like Ice-T A.K.A Tracy Lauren Marrow, and Eren Yeager (some say Eren is a girl's name). In short, I think my name stands out from other Indonesians, and I think it's a beautiful name for girls.
I named my daughter Priya ten years ago. It’s a gorgeous name that rolls off the tongue so nicely. Her full name is Priya Star, which I think is very beautiful. My daughter says she likes it because she’s always the only one in her class and it reminds her of her favorite color, orange. Here are some of my favorite combinations: Priya Eloise, Priya Rose, Priya Ebony, and Priya Belle. If you’re thinking of using this name, go for it! The meaning is just darling. I certainly don’t have any regrets about naming my daughter Priya.
The name Priya is so pretty! One of my fave Indian girl names. :)
I love this name. I feel it is unfortunate that the pronunciation will probably remind a lot of people of Prius.
So pretty and delicate!
My favourite Indian name - a good choice in an English-speaking country too, it just seems to make more sense to an English ear than some other ones. Sounds quite cosmopolitan really! The meaning is lovely too - sweet.
I have a friend named Priya. It's a pretty name, but people tend to mispronounce it a lot. The most popular butchering being "pry-uh".
