Quirino Cristiani (1896-1984) was an Italian-born Argentine animation director and cartoonist. He is responsible for the world's first two animated feature films as well as the first animated feature film with sound.
Quirino is also the Spanish and Portuguese form of Quirinus. [noted -ed]
Quirino derives from the Roman Latin Quirinus, a nickname of Romolo, founder of Rome, and is known to mean, "Armed With A Lance," and/or, "Men Together."
