The meaning and the sound of Rónán make for a good name; I envision a boy or a man with the big, soulful eyes of a seal. I have also attempted to create a feminine form for Scots Gaelic, "Rònag" (RON-ak). Still, seeing that "rón/ròn" is masculine in Gaelic, it might not go over well.
This name is so adorable. The meaning just adds to it! If I were to name a son this, I would always dress him in seals, and his room would have seals all over it.
I like this name, but I'm starting to find that it's getting way too popular. I notice several Hollywood stars have named their sons Ronan, and I'm starting to see it more in everyday life. I have a bad feeling this will be the next "Aiden".
Taylor Swift's song "Ronan" is a beautiful song about a little boy who died of cancer before his 4th birthday. It's the most precious, heart-breaking, peaceful song I have ever heard. It made me cry.
"What if I really thought some miracle would see us through? What if the miracle was even getting one moment with you?"
