Whilst I still think this name is lovely, I lean towards 'Seraphina' with the 'ph' and 'n'. The Russian version is however, a more unique spelling and I imagine few people in the world have been graced with this gorgeous name. It's so underused and underrated in my opinion. Maybe some people are put off by the meaning 'fiery' but it also refers to God's angels in the Bible giving it an angelical and heavenly significance.
Russian figure skater Serafima "Sima" Andreyevna Sakhanovich bears this name.
In Russian it's Sye-rah-fee-mah defenetly not See-ree-fee-mah. So beautiful and modern.
To the poster above, the Russian pronunciation *would* be syeh-ra-FEE-ma, although the first syllable, since it is unstressed, would sound somewhere between /syeh/ and /see/.
This is one of my favourite names, along with Serafina. I just can't work out which one I like best! Sye rah FEE mah sounds awful to me, I prefer the Russian pronunciation se rah FEE mah. Very exotic, classy, sophisticated, unique name that any girl would be lucky to have!
Gorgeous name! I'm amazed I'm the first commenter. I prefer it pronounced sye-rah-FEE-mah, it's prettier this way. Serafima is:Sweet/Sexy
