Comments for SHAHPUR:

(Also written Shapour) From Old Iranian xÊayathiya.puthra 'son of king'. It originally must have been a title, which came to be used, at least from the last decades of the 2nd century C.E., as a personal name. The most famous Shapur was the Persian warrior-King of Kings (241-272 AD) son of King of Kings Ardeshir I, the founder of Sasanid dynasty and "Lady Myro", a princes of Parthian princess.
