Haha. That is funny because my name is Spas. I also know that in Spanish, Spas is Salvador.
When I read the name Spas, I automatically imagine this introduction: "Hello, I'm Spas, who are you?" "You're a spazz? Well, that's nice to know." "No, my name is Spas." "Spazz?" "SPAS!" "Wow, you are a spazz!" I'm sorry, but I would have difficulty not laughing if I ever met someone with this name.
Just because I am nitpicky -- spasen is a past participle, not a noun. It means "saved." [noted -ed]
