Tiri 1

Gender Masculine

Meaning & History

With Tirya apparently being the original form, Tiri (later simply Tir) is the name of a popular Persian astral god. His name apparently means "the swift one" or "he who moves swiftly". Tiri later became assimilated with the god Tishtrya and the Babylonian god Nabu, making it sometimes difficult to distinguish the three.
