I think it's a nasty name because it's my name and it's unusual. People call me all sorts of things from Gertrude to Trudence. I think it's unfair that people with the same name as me should be called other names that are not theirs.

I HATE IT! My name is Trudy and it is awful-it reminds me of beetroot-probably because I tend to get Gertrude a lot! I'm gona change my name!

I like it mostly. However my brothers tease me about my name quite a lot. But I don't let it get to me that much. It flows very well with my middle name so it's all good.
I might like the name "Trudy" better if it weren't for a funny experience I had as a little kid. For some reason my friend thought the name was too difficult to pronounce, and kept saying "TURDY". So now, I laugh whenever I hear the name, which thankfully isn't too often.

Trudy Chacon is a character in the amazing film Avatar. She is a cool, badass marine pilot. She is played by Michelle Rodriguez.
Admittedly, I'd never thought about this name before I saw Avatar. Now, I love it, because of Trudy Chacon. She defines the name. I love her cool, "I don't give a f**k about what you think" attitude and her free spirit. And her beautiful dark hair. I don't like Gertrude at all; it has always sounded very old-fashioned and obnoxious to me. But I love Trudy - it has a lot more energy and youth than Gertrude. The name itself sounds very sweet and kooky. It's not exotic or majestic, but it has this appeal. Even though it is a nickname, it doesn't sound overly girly or childish. I can totally see a doctor called Trudy, a businesswoman, a little girl, an aunt. Trudy would for sure be a cool aunt, who'd let you ride with her in her red sports car, and try on her all her jewelery and perfume.
