Can also be found being used in China, with the meaning of "one", not the number but the "one" as in the 'one and only'.

It looks like the name of the currency in Japan. Someone with this as a name will get laughed at if she goes to Japan.

Yen is the name of Japan's currency in English, not Japanese. In Japan, the pronunciation is En. So, someone with this name would not be laughed at in Japan because the pronunciation is not the same.

In 2014 (USA) Yen was given to 6 baby girls possibly because of Vietnamese descent.

Has a very strong Viet look to it! If a Vietnamese had it a foreigner would right away identify that they're Viet.
