1) probably, but that doesnt mean you have to call him by a shorter name. I love Mitchell, and dont really like the nn Mitch. If I named my son Mitchell, I would call him Mitchell, not Mitch. I cant control what everyone else calls him by, thats his decision.
2) Will, please! I detest Liam
3) No way! William does sound a little formal, but I wouldnt say TOO formal. I think all first names should have a formal way about them. Thats why I cant stand using nn as fn.
4) I personally love William myself, and feel no nn is needed, but if any, I choose Will (I have heard Billy used)
