[Opinions] Ruby
I used to hate this name, but boy has it grown on me lately. I'm not sure I like it enough to warrant first-name status, but I've found it really nice as a middle name. What do you think of the name Ruby? And what do you think of these combinations?Agatha Ruby
Claudia Ruby
Lucinda Ruby
Susannah Ruby
Sylvia Ruby
Twila Ruby

Love all your combinations (more apt to spell Twila like Twyla though)! Susannah and Claudia are probably my favourites with Agatha being the one I'm least inclined to use.

I like it better as a fn, but I think that's because it ends in a -y (and most -y names sound better as fn's to me, but that's just me probably :b). But the combos you suggested actually all sound lovely together and the flow is quite nice. My favorites are Claudia Ruby, Lucinda Ruby, Susannah Ruby, and Sylvia Ruby. I also like Agatha, though. The only one I don't care for is Twila, but it's not awful by any means. :)

I like it went it is after the first name and is the end but it seems to me that once you add a last name onto it The rhythm and flow just get lost.

I like Ruby as a fictional or artistic name, but not as a real name, same goes for all these directly-in-your-face-names like Blaze, Dawn, Faith, Storm etc. ... it's not that I simply don't like names that are actually words used in everyday language, but those having really "big" and "great" meanings. It's too much for me :)

I love it, it's been in my top 5 since I was about 17 or something. It was my fave name for years, then it got popular here in Australia and I thought about other names. I still love it and I could still see myself using it in the future. Ruby Mae was my fave combo and I also now love Ruby Maeve. From your list I like Lucinda Ruby. The other names aren't my style, sorry.

I used to like it more than I do now. However, I can definitely see its appeal. It's the name of a beautiful gemstone. Also, it has a spunky feel to it.I like these combos (I feel these 3 names fit best with Ruby b/c they are old-fashioned like Ruby but are a little more strong and dignified so they offset the spunky Ruby well):Agatha Ruby - I'm so glad to see that you like this name too. It's one of the old-fashioned names that has yet to be appreciated again. I think it's beautiful and a classic. It makes me think of a strong English lady such as Agatha Christie.
Susannah Ruby - Susannah is another beautiful, old-fashioned name. You can't go wrong with it and you can picture it on a person of any age.
Sylvia Ruby - Sylvia is a warm, old-fashioned name that I feel should be used more often.

I've never been crazy about Ruby and don't really have any love for the name.
Susannah Ruby is the best of your combos.

Sorry...but I hate it too. It is the one name that just completely strikes me wrong and I don't know why, as I just said in another post.
If I was to pick one of your combos, though, I'd say Susannah Ruby, though Lucinda Ruby sounds good together too.

Have to agree about Ruby. It's never floated my boat, even when Sapphire and Emerald have. Ruby is also insanely trendy in Britain now, which puts me off it further.

Ditto this.

EDIT: I put this in the wrong place.---------------------------------------------------------------------

Twila Ruby is best IMO. Honesty? I think of a showgirl/stripper when I see the name Ruby, sorry, however it is pretty.
