Wilhelmina and Maude both appealed to me long before I came here--just to settle the question in my case. ;)
I prefer Miranda to Eliza, too, though I don't like either. I have really bad associations with both, but in the end, the associations with Eliza are worse, so Miranda it is.

Your naming style is so your own that I wouldn't bother suspecting the origin of any of your likes. :-) Can't exactly picture you buying into a trend for the trend's sake!
