[Opinions] Vladimir
I've fallen in love with this name. (Yes, influenced by the author of Lolita, the book I posted about in the Lounge, ha.)What are your thoughts on it? I would most likely use Vlad as a nn, and it's always held some sort of dark appeal to me, I'm not sure why. It could be the vampiric connections, who knows. Thanks!

I'm sorry, but to my Slavic ear it's a very ugly name and only old men are named that. Plus, Vlad is Dracula to me and Vladimir is Putin (Russian president), so not a nice association either way. But, if you like it and have no such connection I don't see why no.

I think it's horrible.

Vladimir is extremly popular in Russia, so it doesn't sound really exotic to me. Every over 35-years old man seems to be either Vladimir or Aleksandr. Most popular nicknames are Volodya or Vova.
If you'd like to use it, why not?

I love the name Vladimir, but only when pronounced with a Russian accent. Vlad is an awesome nn too.

I really like Vladimir (and the nn Vlad). It has an appealing and handsome sound and feel/vibe to it, imo.

There was a Vladimir who used to come in all the time to order carry-outs when I used to work at a restaurant. He was cute, lol. Anyway, I love Vladimir.
