Love August, but only for a boy. Henry August is my favorite.
I understand the rationale for why August could be a feminine name. It is, afterall, a month and other month names like April, May and June are always feminine.
But August was named after Emperor Augustus, so in my mind August is all male. Plus, I know a man named August, so that just reinforces it for me.
With so many male names like Avery, Aubrey and Rory being used for girls, I'd like to see August stay firmly planted in the male category.
