[Opinions] Andre, Johan, Anton and Anders
Opinions?Anders is a family name, he's the man who "invented" our surname. I've always wanted to use the name but my boyfriend doesn't care for it. Still as a family name I might be able to use it.Anton is just a name I've loved for years - Anton Raphael is an old combo. Ditto with Andre.Johan is another family name and a name I love. Wdyt? "English" or "American" versions are not wanted here, tyvm.

I'm happy to see Johan on your list : )I could honestly see you with a Johan or an Anders, not so much with Anton though.I actually think that they would sound fine with X's surname.

I really like all of them and I don't hear them often. I love Anton Raphael.

I don't care for Anders much. I do, however, like Anton, Andre, and Johan. The last name situation shouldn't be a very big deal with these four names, I think.

I like all of them except Andre (which I'm just indifferent to). Not a huge fan of Anton Raphael, although I like both names, I don't really like them together as much.

Also, would these be unusual with a very Irish-Americanlast name? I'm a bit worried about that.

No, I don't think so. I think, in America, names with different ethnic backgrounds are often mixed. I don't think they really look out of place or odd paired together.

I know what the last name is, and I think Anders would be fine with it. I think the others, especially Johan, would look a little odd with it.

*sighs*The strange thing is that my boyfriend is more German that Irish! He just ended up with an Irish last name and refuses to take mine. Ah well, ty.

How would you pronounce Johan?I like Anders, Anton, and Johan. I don't like André.Anders is actually really cool. :-) If the name was in my family I was definitely consider it.

yo-HAHNThanks for the okay on Anders. If it hadn't been for him I'd have a really common and boring surname - probably Anderson, actually. :-D

Did you mean YO-hahn? That's the only way I've heard it pronounced.

I love all 4 of them. I think they have a sort of sexy, foreign feel to the American ear (well, ok, to my American ear), ;-)
