Normally I like strong feminine names, but Gertrude is too manly even for me. Trudy is also dated and unattractive. If you like Gertrude, consider using Tru or Getty as nns.

I doubt Gertrude is ever coming back. It's one of those old Germanic names, like Bertha, that have no appeal for younger generations.
