I really like Virginia. My favorite nicknames are Gina and Ginny.
I don't know anyone named Virginia.
I wouldn't use it, but only because I don't like it enough. I don't think she'd get a lot of virgin jokes, and even if she did, being a virgin is a good thing to me. I don't think it would be an insult to be called that at all.
I think it could be a name that could become more popular. Not get very popular, but more common than it is.
