Emily is already dated to me in a Deborah, Lisa, Amanda, Jennifer way. I don't especially care for the sound either and this is coming from someone who has a niece named Emily. What's funny is that my sister's name is Lisa!I've known quite a few over the years, mostly since high school. The girl in high school was Emilie. My dd had a friend named Emilee but the vast majority have been Emilys. Then there are the Emmas ...So if you decide to use it in 10 years, it shouldn't be as common and at least it's a classic. Having said that, the only thing worse, imo, than having an enormously popular name is having it a decade or two after it was hugely popular -- especially for a woman because people may assume she's older than she actually is.
