[Opinions] Alexandra
Elegant and timeless, or overused and boring?
Also, what is your favorite NN? Thanks, guys. :)

I love it. I think it's definitely elegant and timeless. Not overused and boring at all. I don't think I've ever met any Alexandras. Plenty of Alexas, Alexis, Alexises, Lexis, etc. and who knows if any of them were nicknames, but no plain old Alexandras!
I've liked it since I was a pretty little kid, and my favorite nn has always been Alex. Alexandra is quite regal, and Alex is very girl-next-door-y. My cousin loves it even more, though, so I've sworn off it.

Both. I still like it but I prefer Alexandria because I feel that I see it less.
My favorite NN would be: none. All the nick names that I previously liked for this name have become the all too trendy Alexis, Lexi and Alex....

overused, boring and extremely ugly.
I have always hated it, which is rther weird since I adore Alexander to pieces! My favorite nn would probably be Alexis or Alexa

Definitely elegant and timeless. So much better than Alexandria, btw.
I prefer Alexandra with no nickname at all but if I had to pick a NN it would be Lexi.

Overused, but still beautiful.
Elegant and timeless. It's popular, but classics never feel overused or boring to me.
I prefer Alexandra in full, but I like both Alex and Sandy, which I think has a certain retro charm. I prefer almost any nickname over the cheap sounding Lexi.

I think it's lovely and classic.
Maybe a bit overused, but still very good name.
nick-name-Sandy, maybe. Or Sandra, though that's become a name in its' own right.

Elegant and timeless, of course.
Alexander feels more overly used than Alexandra. Even then, I still love them both.
My favorite nn for Alexandra is Sunny. I know it's a stretch. But that's what Tsar Nicholas II used to call his wife. Sunny von Bulow was another Alexandra. I suppose the nn comes from Sandy --> Sunny? Or Xan --> Sun? Whatever way it comes to me, I love it. It's one of the few adjectives that I like as a name.
Oh. And recently someone on these boards listed Exie as their favorite nn for Alexandra. I agree its a zippy little number that deserves more use.

It's a lovely name. I like Lexi. Ally is growing on me.

Alexandra is elegant and timeless IMO. Alexus, Lexi and etc are overused and boring.
The only nn that I can think of that I like is Allie.

I don't have a favourite nn, I don't really like any to be honest.

Overused and boring. Still fine as a mn; which means I don't really think of it as potential for nns.
