I like it okay; I like the sounds in it. It's not a personal favorite. I associate it with names like Darlene and Marcy - it seems to me to be in that retro style of sound. I knew a girl named Darcy when I was growing up, who was born about 1969. It was somewhat popular for girls in the US in the the sixties and seventies, so I think most people who are old enough to have encountered a few actual Darcys (in the US anyway) associate it as feminine. I think only the younger generation sees it as a "sexy sensitive man" name, mostly from the TV and movie P&P. I think that it is not very manly and would avoid giving it to a boy because only some male personalities can carry it off without it being a liability, IMHO. It is also vaguely pretentious and sassy given the P&P association and the surname-name aspect, and that is why it does not make my list. But it's not obnoxiously pretentious. I also know a toddler girl named Darcy, whose name was inspired by the Smashing Pumpkins bassist.
