[Opinions] Octavia?
I had a doll as a child, for whom I couldn't find a name. One of my earliest memories is being bought this doll, and my mother suggesting naming her Octavia. I wasn't sold on it then, but couldn't think of a better name and always kind of love the decisions my parents make with thought and care. Since growing up, I've decided I love the name Octavia. It's regal, rare and rather pretty. It's exotic. It's not -too- pretentious.I have a few questions:
a) Is this a bad heritage for a child's name, or personal?
b) Does it matter if it is not an eighth child, nowadays?
c) Is it prentious? Or other negative things?
d) What middle names or sibsets go well? I like Octavia and Violet as sisters, Octavia Rose, but they're both a bit insipid. Just some quick questions ;)

I love Octavia, I think it would be darling on a little girl and very lovely and elegant on a young woman. It's near the top of my favourite's list :)I don't think it matters at all about not being an eigth child, it's formal sounding but i don't feel its pretentious, just classy.I love Octavia Harriet and Octavia Phoebe btw Octavia and Violet would be an amazing sibset

I like it!
a) I think it's personal and cool
b) Nah. If it was something like naming your third sin Secundus, I'd feel differently, but with Octavia it doesn't seem like a big deal.
c) It's a little "pretentious" in that it's long, pretty, and regal, but it's still good.
d) Octavia & Violet and Octavia Rose are good!
Sisters: Valeria, Aurelia, Winona, Caitriona, Helen, Helena, Viviene, Victoria, Ariana, Anastasia, Antonia, Lucasta
Middle names: Jade, Joan, Leilani, Morgan, Morgana, Morgen, Undine, Nimue, Louisa, Lucia, Seren, Pearl, Arden

Firstly, Octavia is gorgeous! No, I don't think it's a bad heritage and these days I don't think it would matter if she wasn't the 8th child, most people probably wouldn't even realise the meaning. I don't think it's pretentious at all, but then I love names like that. Octavia and Violet are stunning together!Octavia Jane
Octavia Helene
Octavia Leisl
Octavia Marina
Octavia Frances
Octavia Ellen
Octavia Rosalinde
Octavia Penelope
Octavia Juliette

Personal and pleasant! Your mother liked the name, and so do you. What could be better?I once taught a Quintus who was an only child. No problem!I find it pretentious to use, for instance, a distinctively French name if there is no family connection and no ability to pronounce it convincingly. But Octavia has an authentically English feel to it after all these years. No other issues that I know of!Octavia needs a classic mn: Octavia Margaret would be good, or Octavia Rosemary. Nothing with an -a ending, and probably longer rather than shorter, though Octavia Clare or Octavia Ruth would be elegant. Much the same applies for sibs. Especially, avoid Julia and Livia. And Augusta.
